Fans speculate on Paterno QB "endorsement"
One statement by Penn State head coach Joe Paterno at the Radisson in King of Prussia has Nittany Nation rumors swirling:
"Obviously, people got him ahead of the pack, and I think it probably ought to be that way, " Paterno said. "But Devlin and [probable third-stringer Paul] Cianciola are both good football players. "
The statement, published Sunday in the Philadelphia Inquirer, is obviously a response to [one of the] most common questions Paterno faces this spring - Clark or Devlin?
It's no secret that Paterno tends to reward seniority, and although he probably doesn't think his choice of words shed much light on the quarterback controversy, many see the comment as a sign the choice has been made in Happy Valley.
Are the Penn State faithful reading too far into coach's weekend comments? I think everyone is ready to move on from Anthony Morelli, whether it be to Clark, Devlin or some kind of mix of the two quarterbacks.
