Wilson is one of the team's eight inactive players today. He will be replaced by Aaron Francisco, and Matt Ware could also see time at that spot.
Notes (from The Sports Network): The Jets lead the all-time series with the Cardinals, 4-2, and have won the past four matchups with the franchise dating back to the 1978 season. New York prevailed by a 13-3 count when the teams last met, at Sun Devil Stadium in 2003, and prevailed by a 12-7 margin when the clubs last did battle at the Meadowlands, in 1999. The Jets last fell to the Cardinals franchise in 1975, when the then-St. Louis Cardinals pounded New York, 37-6, at Shea Stadium.
• The Cardinals Ken Whisenhunt and Jets' Eric Mangini will be meeting each other, as well as their counterpart's respective team, for the first time as head coaches.
• Sure, its a little early for "must-win"
talk, but its difficult to overstate how much better things would look in the New York camp with a .500 record after the season's first quarter than a 1-3 mark and a three-game losing streak. Not to mention the opportunity to stay in contact with a surprising division leader in Buffalo that seems to be gaining more confidence by the week. The Cardinals are in similar straits. Though they already have two wins, things would surely seem a lot better if a two-game losing streak weren't piled on top of the giddiness of the season-opening two-week win streak.
• Bottom line, the Jets are home and have probably played a better level of competition - Miami, New England, San Diego - than the Cardinals have faced in San Francisco, Miami and Washington.
