The Arizona Cardinals Football Club announced that the team has re-signed safety OLIVER CELESTIN.
Celestin (6-5, 264) was released on Saturday prior to the team’s season opening game at San Francisco.
He played in a career-high 15 games with four starts at strong safety last season for the Cardinals and collected 22 tackles after signing as a free agent on August 1, 2007. In addition, the team has signed center ENOKA LUCAS and re-signed tight end ALEX SHOR to the practice squad.
Lucas (6-3, 299) spent the 2008 preseason with the Tennessee Titans until being released on August 30. Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Houston Texans in 2007 out of Oregon, Lucas was released by Houston on July 23, 2007 and spent three weeks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad last season before being released on September 25. He was a two-year starter at Oregon, finishing his career with 26 consecutive starts at center.
Shor (6-8, 255) was with the Cardinals in training camp until being released in the team’s final roster cut on August 30. He originally joined the Cardinals in 2006 as an undrafted rookie free agent from Syracuse.
